After a week of hard work, you’re ready for a great weekend and we have once again scoured the interwebs to bring you some of the best events happening this weekend in Raleigh! If you’re a fan of rock, namely Queen, you’re about to have a great weekend. Below you’ll see events we recommend by date and at the bottom of this post you’ll find information on how to join Explore Raleigh and suggest future events for us to recommend to other members!
All Weekend Long:
Jurassic Quest
We recommend taking a moment and checking out Jurassic Quest at the Downtown Raleigh Convention Center, they have over 80 different representations of dinosaurs including a lifesize Spinosaurus, Apatosaurus, Triceratops, Giganotosaurus, Pinochiorex, Dracorex, Ouranosaurus & more. Some of them move, breath and even walk. There will be rides and special entertainment for the kiddos so don’t forget your camera! Tickets start at just $22 for adults.
Friday Jun 28th:
Hops for Hope Fundraiser
If you’re looking to do some good, have some fun and have a few brewski’s check out the Hops for Hope fundraiser at Neuse River Brewing Company! A local taco food truck will be there and a portion of all the sales will go to Hops for Hope, which gives to the Children’s Flight of Hope organization, helping children get to hospitals where they can receive much needed care.
The Ultimate Queen Celebration
The Ultimate Queen Celebration will be at DPAC and is said to be a MUST SEE for queen fans! This live performance will by Marc Martel will include some of rocks most iconic anthems of all time and will include theatrical performance style and eye-popping production. Tickets start at $20.
Dr. Strangelove @ the NCMA Outdoor Park Theater
Dr Strangelove is still one the best reviewed movies of all time and if you’ve never seen it, here’s your chance to enjoy it in a great setting with a lot of good people. Give it a quick and Google and see for yourself!
Saturday Jun 29th:
Exotic Cars, Coffee & Cookout
If you like cool cars, this is a monthly event that you are sure to enjoy. Come check them out and see what all they have to offer!
Summerfest Celebration w/ the Carolina Hurricanes
Firstly, FREE PARKING & ADMISSION!!! Come check out some of the Hurricanes prospects, an autograph session, equipment sale & general discussion of the state of the Canes. They have over 20 inflatables for the kiddos and all sorts of games and giveaways.
Bohemian Rhapsody Movie & Party @ the NCMA Outdoor Park Theater
One more awesome event for those rock fans out there! The party starts at 6pm, the Popup Chorus starts at 645pm and the movie starts at 8pm. There will be plenty of fun to be had at this event!
Sunday Jun 30th:
Jurassic Quest
It’s a decently slow and relaxing Sunday and we feel like Sunday might be the best time to go check out all that Jurassic Quest has to offer!
