It’s Tubing Season in Raleigh!

Posted on May 7, 2019September 4, 2019

Explore Raleigh is once again planning a Tube the Neuse adventure (Tube the Neuse V). It’s been a year or two since we partnered with (local hero) Grant(Google him, he’s famous!), to bring you this extremely fun, and extremely risky adventure! Okay, it’s not so risky, maybe sunburn’s a risk? Anyway, it can be very fun! This is one of those things that gets even more fun with even more people so be sure to invite all your friends via the Facebook event listed below.

What to do:

  • RSVP the Facebook Event: (Facebook Event)
  • Invite your friends to the Facebook event
  • Sign up for mobile updates & event invites (
    http://www.exploreraleigh.org/join-us/ )
  • Show up on game day ready to party!

What to bring:

First and foremost, bring a friend! Secondly, check out this quick list below of the basic things you need with links to amazon. Some things can be found cheaper than amazon, but nothing is as easy as ordering from Amazon. Just click a link to see the products we recommend.

  • A Tube to Float on
  • A Floating Cooler for your “Fluids”
  • A Pump for your Tube
  • Water shoes.. They’re a good idea!
  • Sunscreen to help prevent evil
  • A towel to dry your bum before you get in your friends car

Parking:

As with almost anything in life, parking is an issue. You have a few options here. We’ve been unable to work out a deal with Paddle Creek to provide transport from the out point back to the launch point. If you use their rafts (kayaks) they’ll take care of you, but otherwise, nope!

  • Paid Parking: Purchase a parking pass from PaddleCreek.com
  • Free Parking: Park at the Thornton Road Greenway Trail Access or on the road near it
  • Uber/Lift/Taxi
  • Call your mom for help!

Uhh is that guy OK? Looks like he jumped like 30 ft into a 4 ft deep river… (end of video shows people that look like they’re walking toward him in the water)

He died. Nah, just kidding… it’s REALLY deep right there.
